Prompt Engineering Reflection
For my resume, I used prompts that focused on improving clarity and my overall professionalism. I asked AI to “rewrite my resume to sound for professional and driven towards a construction career”. I also used prompts that would have a stronger impact and more concise bullet points.
Between my original and the AI-generated version, my biggest changes were in wording and structure. My original resume was more descriptive and basic, while the revised resume used more powerful verbiage and clearer formatting. It felt more polished and targeted towards a specific audience instead of being vague.
Through this process, I learned that prompt engineering plays a huge role in the quality of my output. The more specific and detailed my prompts were the better the results I received. I also learned the importance of editing content to different jobs, because it makes you stand out and makes you resume more relevant.
